Questions
- How does the $25 work?
- It holds your spot on the calendar and comes straight off your final bill — it's not an extra fee. Cancel or move more than 24 hours out and it's refunded automatically.
- Is the price really fixed?
- Yes. Once I've seen your photos and sent you a number, that's the number. The only thing that changes it is you adding work to the list, and I'll tell you the new price before I start.
- What if the job turns out to be worse than it looked?
- That's my problem. I've been doing this long enough to price the surprises in. The one exception is if something's genuinely different from what you described or showed me — a wall with no studs where you said there were studs — and then I stop, show you, and we agree on a number before I keep going.
- Who buys the parts?
- Whichever you prefer. Buy them yourself and I install them, or I pick them up at cost plus a flat $15 run fee and hand you the receipt.
- Why is there a $1,000 limit?
- Because that's the legal ceiling for unlicensed repair work in California — labor and materials combined, per job, on work that doesn't need a permit. I stay well inside it rather than getting clever with paperwork. Anything bigger and you want a licensed contractor anyway.
- What can't you do?
- Panel and circuit work, plumbing inside walls or under the slab, gas lines, water heaters, HVAC, roofing, tree work, anything structural, and anything that needs a permit. I'll tell you straight and refer you out.
- Are you insured?
- Yes — $1,000,000 general liability. I'll email you the certificate if you want it before I come.
- How do I pay?
- Card, Apple Pay or bank transfer through the invoice link. Cash or check is fine too. The $25 deposit shows as its own line on the invoice so you can see it come off.
- Do you guarantee the work?
- If something I installed or repaired fails within 90 days and it's the workmanship, I come back and fix it free. Parts carry whatever warranty the manufacturer gives them.
- How fast can you come?
- Usually within a few days. Emergencies aren't my lane — if it's flooding or sparking, call a licensed emergency trade and then call me for the repair afterward.
