I'm Tristan. I've been here 45+ years.

Alta Vista Elementary, then Parras, then Redondo Union, then Cal State Dominguez Hills. I never left, and I never wanted to.

The part people don't expect is that I still do all of it. RAT Beach for a swim and a picnic. Dinner out on the pier. Walks through the Riviera. Skating the Esplanade with the water on my right and the whole coastline laid out in front of me. That's not nostalgia I keep in a drawer and take out at parties — it's my week. It's what I did Sunday and what I'll do again Thursday.

So when a job puts me six blocks from the sand I learned to swim in, that isn't a commute. That's a good afternoon. There's something about working close to the place you love that I don't think I could get anywhere else, and I stopped trying a long time ago.

This village raised me. The people in it are the reason I get to do this at all — the neighbors who called first, the ones who passed my name along, the families who've been on these streets as long as mine has. I'm grateful for them, for my own family, and honestly for the shape my life took here. It wasn't a plan. It just kept being the right place.

That's what you're actually getting when you hire someone local. Not a stranger in a van who's an hour away and gone by Friday. Somebody who cares how your house looks, because he's going to walk past it.

Before this I spent eleven years flying inspection drones over power lines and cell towers. Strange résumé for a handyman until you've watched me work. That job was methodical to the point of tedium: plan it, brief it, do exactly what you said you'd do, document it, never surprise anyone with what you found. That's the whole approach here too.
